It isnt, it's usually a very good idea since it makes network management a whole lot simpler. Of course, with only a handfull of machines using a static configuration might not be a big deal but if you have people coming in with laptops on a regular basis the static setup quickly becomes a pain even on a small network. --- Lars Hansson
