That looks fine. No idea why 5 Ghz doesn't work. It's difficult to diagnose issues on this device without additoional hardware because the firmware doesn't expose details about management frames to the driver. Do you have any of iwn/iwm/iwx or another device which could capture raw 802.11 frames of failed association attempts in monitor mode?
