Reposting this to the list, sorry, my brain had me reply like it was a
text message.

I've never tried it on OpenBSD but it's exactly like a dial up
connection. You'll get a USB serial port that you run some AT commands
on and get a ppp connection. Sometimes there are a couple of one time AT
commands you'll have to run.

The Pinephone/PMOS guys have a lot of good documentation for dialing
e.g25 modems without NetworkManager to a number of carriers.
