I’m just curious: None of the macOS versions I have checked (Ventura, Sonoma, 
Sequoia, Tahoe) seem to contain openrsync. They do however contain rsync (see 
`% /usr/bin/rsync --version`).

`% which openrsync` does not return a path on any of these.

I understand your post to imply that you are using openrsync, not rsync, on 
macOS? If so where did you find it?

Thus this whole discussion seems somewhat weird, unless I have misunderstood 
something.
