I do this, and don't have any problems. My current usb "hub" is actually
my monitor, but I've used regular usb-c hubs in the past.
I _highly_ recommend that whatever solution you pick, your hub also
powers the laptop, and you permanently leave a charger connected there.
It'll make it impossible to forget to charge when using the hub, and
you'll be much happier.
