My understanding was that this is a new port in development, so it's not (yet) being started via rc. If that's not the case, and the program is indeed running as class _monerod then it would be useful to see the full login.conf and the contents of /etc/login.conf.d/ instead of just extracts. If there are files in /etc/login.conf.d/* they will obviously override what is in the main /etc/login.conf.
