disklabel -R does not restore the DUID from protofile. It also doesn't leave the existing duid alone.
I'm sure the devs have good reason to reset the duid to a new random value but this behaviour should be documented in "man 8 disklabel" maybe in CAVEATS. The admin needs to know the duid changed and to update the /etc/fstab file where duids are used by default. After you are done ROFL can you update the man page?
