why? if you want to avoid nginx, I suggest looking at haproxy. (you can also do http reverse-proxying with squid, Apache httpd, pound, vinyl/varnish, but haproxy seems a reasonable balance of sanity/complexity, and it's actively developed). -- Please keep replies on the mailing list.
