Thank you for the tip! This works as well and is a bit nicer. A new problem arised (regardless of where I implement the hack, so also after reverting to not using /etc/apm/resume). The system does not wake up anymore after pressing the power button for about a second, which it did before (usually), so now I need to do a hard reset (press about 3s). This is all very inconsistent and apparently hard to reproduce. I'll not use zzz for now on this ThinkPad. I've put /etc/apm/resume there, including a comment about the new problem. :-/ Marco
