It works perfectly when I test locally here, so it would be helpful if you could provide the actual modifications you are making to work out what you are doing wrong. Some wild guesses would be: * A typo in /etc/gettytab * Didn't change /etc/ttys to reflect a new entry in gettytab * Forgot to send a HUP to init But without more specific information about what you have changed, we're just wasting our time.
