sysupgrade -n, check files in /home/_sysupgrade/

Ah. I saw that option and thought it did everything but reboot.
So on next reboot it'd apply, which I'd not neccesarily want. Is this understanding incorrect?

What I'd like is for it (or some other tool) to ask "what is the next snapshot" to scan or download a thing and use it to emit an answer and that's all.

Or maybe a method would be to do as you've suggested, but then once the answer was obtained, to either run a normal sysupgrade -s or delete /home/_sysupgrade/ if I didn't want
it.
