I have 1.2.9.1 installed from ports on 3.9 with a Cisco 7940 hardware based phone. Hardware is an Epox board, 1Ghz AMD, 64MB RAM. Certainly not the best rig, but I've been using it reliably for about a month. The load on the box is low enough that Asterisk has not taxed it yet.
