Thanks for the ideas! And if I understand correctly the most easy and safe way to build custom kernel for a new release is to temporary setup this release on any computer (maybe even under virtual machine) and build the kernel there. And then use generated kernel instead of bundled one for the upgrade.
Is this a recommended way or I'm missing something?
