Hi, I am having this issue with my Toshiba Satellite 5200-801 and OpenBSD.
When I start the notebook the display brightness is already at around 60% and will stay like that all the way through login and when starting X. However, when I close the lid and reopen it, it stays bright at 100% for some seconds (~10) and than turn back to where it was, at around 60%. It has nothing to do wether I got power attached or run from batteries. The notebook keys for adjusting brightness don't work. Tried activating the acpi options in the kernel but that kernel won't even boot, already send in the dmesg and output when the post about ACPI was created at undeadly, but never heard something from it. Well, this works under Linux and I can't believe that I can't use my favorite OS on the notebook just because the display is too dark. Everything else seems to work just fine. If there is any chance to get someone help me, please tell me what you need. dmesg probably, but anything else? I would even give some dev full SSH access to the machine if it would help. Thanks in advance, Michael
