The logic behind the misc posting is so very obvious that to bitch about it is just finding something to complain about. I, of course, don't know the exact numbers but it seems pretty clear that misc has a much larger subscriber base than security-announce. Given that it just makes sense to post this to the list where the most people are going to see it. As for the rest of your rant. It's clear you've never been a working admin or coder.
