2) Do I have to modify another file?
No.
Very much noted. I have been wondering about this too.
it's the 'i want to create my own style ramdisk kernels
with their own unique "in-the-ramdrive-userland" consisting
of a different variety of crunch'ed binaries' scenario
that, iirc, results in modifying other files
sure you can do that, but it requires that you understand how the
ramdisk kernels are build. take the release(8) manpage as a starting
point, then begin reading the relevant Makefiles.
it will be a quite long journey, I'd say, but once you understand the
process, it is feasible to roll you own stuff.
