I just put together a server with this cheap $70 PCChips V21G board: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813185094 The specs don't mention it, but it uses the 1.5 GHz VIA Esther CPU. It seems to work well enough so far. The only problem I had is that it didn't want to boot off of a CF->IDE adapter. Also, the onboard network is only 10/100 so you'll have to give up one of the two PCI slots for gigabit.
