I tried a bsd.rd from 8-9-2007 and it still hangs in the same spot, no matter if I have acpi enabled or not. I also Have a Areca ARC-1210 raid card, if i remove it then bsd.rd works fine.
if I have a mp kernel as well as acpi enabled then it boots fine with the areca card installed.
