...you could be researching a Lights-out-Management solution for your server (Dell DRAC, Sun LOM). Best all-around solution is a PC-Weasel (realweasel.com) connected to the system next to it (Or a RAS concentrator) If the system is completing 3-way TCP handshake, then you're dead in the water. Consider making the system highly available. ~BAS
