Don't do any complicated things.
Copying kernels around and such is not needed.
Just follow the whole process described in the release(8) man page,
and do the additional step of adding the aac driver to RAMDISK_CD
as I described in my previous mail.
You will get a cd44.iso in ${RELEASEDIR} which you can use
to boot into an FTP install. Promise.
