Hi, This is pretty much driver specific question but I think the OpenBSD doesn't support that card out of box.
The git repo of radeonhd and radeon drivers have support for the 4870 if I remember correctly so if your interrested in building the drivers yourself it should support your card. I would have suggested that you get Radeon 3870 as it will have driver and would be pretty powerful card itself.
