Hi. I don't have such device on the sparc64:

ifconfig
lo0: flags=8049<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 33160
        priority: 0
        groups: lo
        inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 0xff000000
        inet6 ::1 prefixlen 128
        inet6 fe80::1%lo0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x5
hme0: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
        lladdr 08:00:20:a2:f6:94
        priority: 0
        groups: egress
        media: Ethernet autoselect (100baseTX full-duplex)
        status: active
        inet 96.52.224.134 netmask 0xfffffc00 broadcast 96.52.227.255
        inet6 fe80::a00:20ff:fea2:f694%hme0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x1
hme1: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
        lladdr 08:00:20:a3:e8:52
        priority: 0
        media: Ethernet autoselect (100baseTX full-duplex)
        status: active
        inet 192.168.1.22 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.1.255
        inet6 fe80::a00:20ff:fea3:e852%hme1 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x2
hme2: flags=8822<BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
        lladdr 08:00:20:ab:02:fd
        priority: 0
        media: Ethernet autoselect
enc0: flags=0<> mtu 1536
        priority: 0

Which could account for some of this problems, which is
why I was hoping to circumvent PF with the milter mechanism.

Dhu
