This looks quite familiar to me as well. Have a look here: http://marc.info/?l=openbsd-misc&m=124942995116023&w=2 Could you try testing CARP failover and monitoring with "route -n monitor" ? If it's really a bug with ifstated, route monitor should catch all the state changes I suppose. But in my case it didn't. Would be nice if someone else could confirm the behavior I'm getting.
