I asked a similar question about a year ago on this mailing list. Strangely enough, I ended up using a tool nobody mentioned explicitly in response to my e-mail. It is called unison http://www.cis.upenn.edu/~bcpierce/unison/ As observed earlier, YMMV with particular tool depending on your personal needs and set up. Cheers, Predrag
