Hey Fred, I have an Acer Aspire 5551 with an athn(4), the radio switch is Fn+F3.
On Windows the Wireless LED goes on and off when toggling, but not on OpenBSD... it does work however, even though there are no visible indications. One quirk is that I have to hold down both keys for a few seconds.. and then scanning works, fortunately the radio is enabled on my system by default. athn0 at pci3 dev 0 function 0 "Atheros AR9281" rev 0x01: apic 4 int 17 (irq 5), address 78:e4:00:eb:ae:31 athn0: AR9280 rev 2 (2T2R), ROM rev 22 It's a great wireless card, everything works as far as I can tell, it even supports hostap now. -Bryan.
