ldapd is not fully LDAPv3 compliant yet. For example, it does not yet support
all matching rules, most notably numericStringMatch and caseExactMatch.

I've had no reports about stability problems. However, consider that 4.8 is
the first release where ldapd will get more widespread testing.

You should follow ldapd -current, even if you're on 4.8.

That said, I do encourage you to try it and send me reports.
