same problem here, I do not think it's T400 related; my usb bluetooth thingy works just fine, I get serial access to my phone (a nokia 5230) via rfcomm_sppd and can do all sort of AT commands, even get internet access via pppd working (see http://www.tp76.info/stuff/btnet.html) - but no obexftp.
