I had this issue on my Aspire One as well. I don't recall the details anymore, but here's the brief summary I wrote up after trying to investigate the issue last August: Keyboard does not work unless acpi or pms is disabled or until a sleep/resume cycle. (If pms is disabled, then pmsi attaches instead unless also disabled, but the keyboard still works.) Touching the touchpad during the install or when no pms/pmsi is attached results in lots of obnoxious pckbcintr: no dev for slot 1 errors, each about a second apart, and causing weird keyboard input.
