Our girls buy their club t-shirt and activity book, we do not do the
formal uniform with the jumpers. The church pays for the sashes and all
the badges, and scholarship a couple of needy girls per year. The sash
and badge cost per girl is about $20 /yr. There are a few events and
Adventures that the girls are charged for the cost of the event, and a
few where the Missionettes budget covers all or some of the event cost.
Offering is encouraged each week, and some goes to Missions and some goes
to help fund the program. We have about 125 girls each week, it is a very
exciting place to be on Wed nights!
Our district hosts a Womens Ministry/Leadership Retreat each year that
has parallel sessions for the Missionette leaders and coordinators. There
are some large group sessions, and usually a time for the coordinators to
get to together and share/ brainstorm together. I have also thought a
retreat just for our leaders would be great as I now have over 20
sponsors and helpers in our program, but finding the time is a big
challenge. It is hard enough for me to get them together for three
meetings a year, that I haven't tried a retreat yet. Our Royal Ranger
leaders have an annual planning retreat as a day event each year and I am
considering attempting that. They brainstorm about what has worked well
over the past year, what could be improved, plan their calendar and then
break into age level planning time and prayer time for the ministry. It
sounds like a great day, getting a lot accomplished. They go to a state
park retreat center lodge.
It is interesting to hear what other clubs are doing, hope to hear from
more coordinators1
