Has Thomas J. Carlson decided that certain people cannot send emails? I have not cursed or used any fowl language. Just the truth. You can see that I tried again. Has anyone else had this problem? I think someone named Thomas knows I would like to see him gone. I actually know this. Is he that sensitive? I wouldn't have thought so. If anyone else has had this problem please let me know. There has been a hi-jacker on my computer, but have tried to deal with it. You were all probably almost embarrassed, as I would have been when you read that email, but I have never sent one like that and never will again. Sorry, people, it was private, but the person is still messing with my computer. I have reported it, and nothing of course has been done. ----- Forwarded Message ---- From: Linda Herd <linda.h...@sbcglobal.net> To: citycoun...@mchsi.com Cc: linda.h...@sbcglobal.net Sent: Saturday, January 3, 2009 2:43:12 PM Subject: Disappointed, dissatisfied, and dumbfounded I have personally had problems with crime. One was committed at Central and N. Main to my son. He is damaged for life. Over 9 men beat him almost to death. Has anything really happened to them? Jail for a couple of them and one got out shortly. My son is in jail of pain for the rest of his life. You think I am happy that the Council and Mayor spend so much? It seems to me you think we have the resources of San Antonio, Texas. The plan for Hammond? It can be seen in the plan room upstairs at the Bush Building. My family had paid a lot of taxes here and have done a lot of work to, in fact make the city look better. We have not received grants like some. Isn't that right Mayor Carlson? We have used our own hard earned money. We are not snobs, and have no power. But, since I am disabled and get sick when I get out, the only way to speak to you is to email the council. I would doubt very highly if many, or any of you read this. Springfield is the minimum wage City of the Ozarks. How can we keep going when utilities go up, food, wood, etc., etc., etc., and by this I mean almost everything? Then when oil prices are blamed and oil prices come down, why doesn't anything else come down? And, oh yes, we also just really do need a 1% sales tax added to higher and higher prices on everything. Medical-the hospitals make the common man and woman pay more every time one goes. I was taking pain shots and they charged me for surgery. It !was on the bill. Surgery! My blood pressure goes up, way up, without help with pain, but who cares? Only the other people in my same position care. Even as teachers we made way less than union people do. And no, no one can complain that teachers have waged strikes here. We do our jobs for the kids. I'm beginning to believe that the City Council are using bullying tactics. After one says this, think about it. Think! Please think. I am pretty aware of the fact that we haven't been thinking about our tactics like I have spoken, but just Think for a change. Another thing, I went to McGregor, Jarrett, Central, and Parkview, working very hard and working through the summers. At 13 on until I could not! I went to MU and graduated with great grades. I started at $6,250. I have had a policeman tell me that I should move just because some new people in the neighborhood were selling drugs. I had called them 4 or 5 times, which irritated them, I guess. They wanted us to solve that problem, so I did. I called the Landlord and told him I was reporting the drug traffic and everyone on the street knew who they were. He got rid of them. I told the police where they kept the drugs and they did found them and the man could not use his house for a year. Let this go out to the public, since we cannot afford enough policemen. Another thing is that I could not draw out the entire retirement I had paid, and then get the entire amount of the pension for the rest of my life. Teachers have schedules of how much they can get in further payments, depending on how much they do decide to take and the end. I know why our police and firemen can do this. Another not so intelligent man is responsible for this. Tell the police that when they decide and vote that this can no longer be done, then the City could be more helpful. This is wrong. In fact in cannot ultimately work and any intelligent person knows, including them, I hope. How ridiculous can they be? Eventually even if the City puts in their amount, the pension will be comprised. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ This is a Free Speech forum.
