So in other words the city doesn't want to accept the results of the court,
however we the people should accept the results when the city get the way it
wants..? Hmmmm i see a conflict in this thought process.

Subject: City of Springfield News Release - Council Votes to Request
Rehearing on Cameras
To: t.ma...@gmail.com

In closed session on March 4, 2010, the Springfield City Council voted to
authorize a request for rehearing or modification of the red light camera
decision handed down by the Missouri Supreme Court this week.

A request for rehearing is not an appeal. Instead, the request will ask the
court to reconsider specific portions of the decision. The Council
authorized hiring outside legal counsel to handle the filing of the
rehearing, as well as the related class action lawsuit filed this week.

In addition, Council members requested that a fact sheet prepared by City
staff be forwarded to the media, and that information is attached in the
electronic version of this release. If any members of the media need the
fact sheet faxed to them, they can contact the Pubic Information Department
at the number below.

   - Chart showing the general downward trend of red light running
citations<http://www.springfieldmo.gov/pdfs/redLiteCitationTrend.pdf>at
intersections where red light cameras are installed
   - Monthly breakdown of payments made by the City to
Lasercraft<http://www.springfieldmo.gov/pdfs/lasercraftPmts.pdf>,
the camera system vendor. It is important to note that the payments are a
flat monthly fee paid on a per-approach basis. The amount of the payments
has increased along with the number cameras installed at intersection
   approaches.
