   I have just pushed a native compiler back end for the AMD x86-64
   architecture....

And in case it wasn't obvious:  On AMD x86-64 machines with the native
back end, MIT Scheme effectively has no practical address space limits
(just like with the C back end on 64-bit machines, but the native back
end is considerably faster and is better in various respects).
