Greetings. I am determined to learn Scheme more thoroughly this time around, and have
selected MIT-Scheme as the environment to use, since I prefer tools that run on Windows
XP, MacBook, and Linux (Ubuntu 10.04). I have downloaded and installed MIT-Scheme on all
three of those systems, and I ran into an odd thing when I launched the Linux version.
The launch information says "Release 7.7.90.+ || Microcode 15.1 || Runtime 15.7 ||
SF 4.41 || LIAR/i386 4.118 Edwin 3.116". That is identical to what my MacBook
installation says except for the Release value, which is what I expected: 9.0.1. Is this
something I should be concerned about?
I'd report the value on my XP installation, but that machine is down right now,
recovering from a nasty crash.

And the answer is... Somehow the official Ubuntu package was hiding the
newly downloaded version. I removed the "apt" package and the release value
is now correct. I now have the same version on all my machines and have
just exhausted my excuses. Now for the hard work.
