I found what it is and it's by design not a bug (line 752 of mitab_indfile.cpp). I need to index all 50 columns and the dataset can only contain 29 indexes. I will just have to tell my users that only the first 29 fields are searchable. Thank you, Andy Canfield

Whenever I try to add more than 29 columns to a new table using MITAB I get an error. I got this error in 1.3 and now in 1.5 beta as well. Yet If I go into Mapinfo itself I can add many more columns than that. Is this a bug or is it by design? Also is there a quick way to fix this in the source? I have the need to make a table with nearly 50 columns and the 29 columns thing is becoming a definite problem for me. Thank you, Andy Canfield Yahoo! Groups Links Yahoo!
