The 3D render window is managed by VTK (should be vtkCameraController) and not by the mitk interaction mechanism. But you can disable camera interaction by calling: Mitk::BaseRenderer::Pointer renderer = ...; renderer->GetVtkRenderer()->GetRenderWindow()->GetInteractor()->Disable(); Picking should still be enabled so that mitk interaction mechanism should work.
