Hi,
this could be the case if your image is on top of the surface in the 
DataManager view. The order in this view is the order in which the data nodes 
are rendered. Try to drag the surface to the top of the list, maybe this will 
make the surface show up on the 2D render windows.

Another strange behaviour is that my mitk::Surface is only displayed in the 3D 
Widget, not in the 2D Slices. Can anyone say me why?
