Hi there, just for the records, the following lines help solving this problem:
mitk::ProgressBar::GetInstance()->Progress(); qApp->processEvents(); So telling the main application to process the events after one has progressed the bar will make the progress work smoothly. This problem does not only occur when calling external programs, but also sometimes if the program is busy working on filters etc. It also occurs, if the filter only runs single threaded on one core.
