Can you provide us some more information about how you are using MITK? It seems that you are working on the latest MITK release (2014.10) and you are using the MITK Project Template for building your own application, right? What CMake version are you using and how did you install git? Then I checked for GIT_EXECUTABLE and see that it had been changed to none. I changed it again as /usr/bin/git and reconfigure. But after rerunning make in build directory, it had been changed again and same error occurs. I'll be pleased to get any comments.
