Hi Matt, there hasn't been any further activities as we wanted to wait for the new VTK rendering backend, which was finally released with VTK 7 this month. We plan to upgrade to VTK 7 immediately after the release (with the old rendering backend enabled, branch does already exist). We also plan to migrate to the new VTK rendering backend this year and probably before the release after next. In this course it might happen that we prepare our interfaces not to be dependent on VTK in principle anymore but at this state we cannot guarantee anything. I hope that we can give you a more specific update on this topic at the MITK Users Meeting in April.
Do you know for sure that the new rendering backend of VTK won't meet your requirements? Best, Stefan -----Original Message----- From: Clarkson, Matt [mailto:m.clark...@ucl.ac.uk] Sent: Dienstag, 23. Februar 2016 15:40 To: MITK Subject: [mitk-users] Replacing the Renderer Hi All, at the previous MITK users meeting, there was interest from a few groups in having the ability to support different renderers. i.e. not VTK. Has there been any further thoughts on this? Or any progress? I notice that things like mitk::BaseRenderer still explicitly mention VTK. At the moment, my thoughts might be to simply place another renderer on top of mitk::DataStorage, but then there is NO way of synchronising with mitk::BaseRenderer. Has anyone investigated this?
