Oh, where to start? I've attached the latest version. I also posted an earlier version to Albert, who was so friendly as to host it on mixxx.sf.net.What is the current status of the dm2 driver? Does it work with mixxx? Does it require patching? And most importantly where can i find the latest version?Thanks
Included is a patch by Andre Roth which you'll need to apply to your kernel in order to make the LEDs work.
The kernel module compiles and runs flawlessly on 2.6.22. I haven't come around to backporting / testing on prior versions. Since users need to be adept enough to patch and compile their own kernel, backporting may not even make sense.
Feature-wise it's almost complete and the included DM2.midi.xml file contains quite useful settings.
The best thing is to build and try it yourself: Nano-HOWTO:- cd /usr/src/linux; patch -p1 < linux-lowspeedbulk.patch. Build and install kernel.
- Boot into new kernel. - "make" in dm2 directory.- insmod the new module and/or install in /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/misc. (after depmod -a it is auto-loaded).
- Plug in your DM2.- If the LEDs don't flash immediately to indicate the driver's activity, read /var/log/messages and/or email me.
- Install DM2.midi.xml into share/mixxx/midi directory.- Fire up a recent mixxx build (svn trunk is best) and choose DM2 and Mixman DM2 in the input panel.
Hold the middle button and turn a wheel to choose a song from the library. Release middle button to load the song. Press center button to play/pause. Hold LED buttons and use wheel to change CC settings. Push LED buttons to switch functions. Try them out, because it takes too long to describe all the bindings.
