Right, but PortAudio is the only dependency that uses it. :)

That sounds like a good idea, go for it.

Sure, it'll help the brand image, and you'll probably get some good
Windows development experience out of it too. On the other hand, if
it's brand image you're primarily concerned about, then I think the
new library is going to have a much bigger impact. (Almost every
serious DJ I've met in person who's tried Mixxx has blown it off
because our library sucks for them in one way or another.)

Anyways, that's just my opinion (and why I was working on the new library).

On a more objective note, I'm a tiny bit concerned about our ability
to produce win64 builds in the long-term, since they'll have a bus
factor of 1 for the foreseeable future: If you disappear, we won't
have anyone else to do win64 builds. We can only hope and pray that
wider adoption of 64-bit Windows is inevitable, and that sooner or
later we'll have more 64-bit Windows developers. (Is Windows 7 going
to come in both 32- and 64-bit flavours? I wish they'd just make the
switch to exclusively 64...) :)

Thanks,
Albert
