Hi everyone, The list of accepted students for Google Summer of Code 2010 will be announced shortly by Google: http://socghop.appspot.com/
We will be posting a short announcement of our own on the Mixxx blog later: http://mixxxblog.blogspot.com I'd like to thank everyone who applied for GSoC with us. We had many great applications, but unfortunately the number of students we could accept was limited. If anyone who wasn't accepted is still interested in working on Mixxx for fun, to learn about audio programming, or for any reason, we're always willing to help new contributors get involved. >From the wide variety of applications we received, it's clear that there are many talented, creative students with a strong interest in programming and multimedia out there. I strongly encourage you to get involved with an open source audio or video project in the future - You will gain valuable experience that looks great on your resume, and it might help you discover a new passion for software development. Working on open source is much more satisfying than hacking away on a toy personal project because it doesn't end up sitting half-finished on your hard drive, it's a lot more fun to work with a team of like minded C++ addicts, and the overall experience is great. All of our developers and contributors (besides our past GSoC students) work on Mixxx because it's fun, and as a bonus, every once and a while we produce a stable piece of DJ software. To everyone that applied, I sincerely hope you find some free time to try working on _any_ open source multimedia project because I think you'll find it a very rewarding experience. Thank you, Albert ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Mixxx-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/mixxx-devel
