I think "samples from mic" is going to make it an awesome tool for all kind of instrumentists. I have not looked well at what you are implementing, but did you think or even better include a "play synchronized loop" feature ? I use sooperlooper ( http://sonosaurus.com/sooperlooper/ ) for playing with synchronized loop, but having the existing features of Mixxx available along those of sooperlooper would make a dream tool.
