developers. I see this headphone icon on the Mixxx interface and so I ask is it so we route its output to the headphone? When I tried doing it on my laptop which is a HP Pavillion it didn't make any difference, I had a headphone plugged in and like always the speakers shut and all audio went to the headphone.
The headphone button enables that deck's output to go to the headphone bus, which is sent out of the sound card specified in the preferences for Headphone. Nearly all built-in laptop sound cards only have one output pair so you'll need a second external sound card to make use of it.
Have you read the manual? http://mixxx.org/manual/latest/ Specifically the part about audio output options: http://mixxx.org/manual/latest/chapters/setup.html#audio-output
