Putting aside the trademark thing...

Frankly, I don't think Mixxx as part of the name of a distro actually
sounds cool or would anyway help the uptake...  For one thing, most novice
users probably have no idea what Mixxx is.

If I were in your place, I would go for a name that either describes the
function i.e. 'Linux 4 DJs', Live DJ with Linux', 'The DJ distro', 'iDJ
Linux' or captures a cool sounding DJing/musical term i.e. 'Backspin
Linux', 'Crossfade Linux', 'Breakbeat Linux'.  Beyond that you could play
off the Mixxx name in a way that limits potential for confusion... i.e.
miX3 Linux, ReMix3

If you wanted to say the distro "features Mixxx" as a tag line, I don't
think that would be a big deal.

Just my 2 cents...
