Hello,

I'm following the Mixxx project for a couple of years now, partly
because I'm a hobby-DJ, partly because I'm an OSS fan and developer,
partly because of the people and places I know and live with and also
because Mixxx is the only OSS project in this segment which does really
well. Congrats and thanks a lot at this point!

Now another OSS project got released, which reminds me a lot of Mixxx in
its earlier years (no worries, no competition :)) - called

  "omnidome" -- http://omnido.me

Omnidome is a VJ-tool, with which you can visually map arbitrary
surfaces using an arbitrary amount of projectors, defining itself as: "a
arbitrary surface projection mapping tool".

I hope this is not too much advertisement, I just figured that because
of it's similarities (potentially overlapping crowd (DJs<->VJs), the
used programming language and toolkit (C++/Qt), the
'the-only-OSS-project-of-its-kind'-characteristic, etc.) and it just
being released in its very recent and very first release, it is worth
dropping a note about it here on this list.

Disclaimer: I'm not part of that project (yet), however more than happy
being friends with the crowd. Anything going into my inbox regarding
omnidome, incl. a potential thread on this list, I'm glad to forward to
the relevant people.

Cheers

  mirko
