Before I start, my system:
linux 2-4-20
KT-133 chipset (Athlon 1-GHZ)
LML33
SB-Live (original)
OSS drivers
Redhat 8.0
20-gig ATA-66 drive (It meets and beats the needs of recording for lavrec)

The driver loads fine and mjpegtools 1.6.0 and 1.6.1 both install and work, except
lavrec. When I start recording (reguardless of 'nice') I get at least 1 or 2 ins and
del sync errors per second (NOTE: I have to use read() for audio because of the
SB-Live). About every 30-50 frames, lavrec pauses (presumably to write the frames to
the filesystem.) Just after these pauses is when the frame ins/del's occour.
Interestingly enough, this is not the worst of it. After about 3-5 minutes ( it
varies time to time) of this, lavrec locks and dies. (Note: if I turn audio off, the
recording works file, vis. -a 0).

After some voodoo dancing and sacrificial rituals, I was able to hack the commandline
into recording for ~1:45 (I am converting VHS's to VCD's) with this command: "lavrec
-w -f a -d 2 -i n -t 7300 -q 95 --max-file-size 100 -n 128 --file-flush 1 -U -v1
asdf%03d.avi". After which, it complains about audio being too far out of sync (even
though the audio is perfectly sync'ed and recorded as such).

I have searched the mailing list, but the only solution I come up with is that my
motherboard's PCI handler hates me and my stupid LML33. I anyone can offer insight in
this problem, I'd be eternally grateful.

TIA,
Matthew Meno

PS: I unfortunately lost the error message of the audio sync, but if any questions
need answering, I'll try to respond as fast as possible.
