Thanks, Ronald for your quick reply!
I got the cvs tree for driver-zoran today (1Mar2003), and built it. The
following modules were built:
adv7175.o
bt819.o
bt856.o
saa7110.o
saa7111.o
saa7185.o
zoran.o
I'm sure you know that driver-zoran-0.9.1 builds a lot more modules :)
adv7170.o
adv7175.o
bt819.o
bt856.o
saa7110.o
saa7111.o
saa7114.o
saa7185.o
videocodec.o
vpx3220.o
zoran.o
zoran_card.o
zoran_device.o
zoran_driver.o
zoran_procfs.o
zr36016.o
zr36050.o
zr36060.o
Reading the FAQ in driver-zoran-0.9.1, I see"
Drivers to use: videodev, i2c-core, i2c-algo-bit,
videocodec, saa7111, saa7185, zr36060, zoran.
So, I replaced saa7111.o, saa7185.o, and zoran.o in my system, with those from
cvs--so, there's a mix of revisions (maybe that was silly on my part, but I
wasn't sure what else to do). Then I said rmmod:
$ rmmod zoran
$ rmmod zr36060
$ rmmod saa7111
$ rmmod saa7185
$ rmmod videocodec
$ rmmod videodev
But this time, when I modprobe:
bash-2.05b$ sudo modprobe zoran
/lib/modules/2.4.20/kernel/drivers/media/video/zoran.o: unresolved symbol
i2c_unregister_bus
/lib/modules/2.4.20/kernel/drivers/media/video/zoran.o: unresolved symbol
i2c_register_bus
/lib/modules/2.4.20/kernel/drivers/media/video/zoran.o: unresolved symbol
i2c_control_device
/lib/modules/2.4.20/kernel/drivers/media/video/zoran.o:
Hint: You are trying to load a module without a GPL compatible license
and it has unresolved symbols. The module may be trying to access
GPLONLY symbols but the problem is more likely to be a coding or
user error. Contact the module supplier for assistance, only they
can help you.
/lib/modules/2.4.20/kernel/drivers/media/video/zoran.o: insmod
/lib/modules/2.4.20/kernel/drivers/media/video/zoran.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.20/kernel/drivers/media/video/zoran.o: insmod zoran failed
bash-2.05b$
If I'm doing something silly here, please tell me, and I'll correct myself and
try again!
Thanks,
Karl Pizzolatto
