I don't want to demotivate you or anything, just save you from redoing work that we've done some time ago. ;). And yes, the 2.4 driver is "abandoned" until the ZORAN_VIDEODEV_2 (0.9.4 & co) have been integrated in 2.5.x, then I'll think about backporting it to 2.4.x.
