Hi, everyone I am trying to get rid of Windows Dependencies so I can go All Linux!
I am using kino to capture stuff from my DV camcorder, this it does at a resolution of 720x576, 25fps, 32kHz audio. I can then create SVCD files (or even DVD files) at 480(720)x576. There is a program in Windows called TMPGenc which can force VCD headers onto these files, which, when burnt to CDs using Nero, will play back on my DVD players. The SVCD files work perfectly, the DVD ones have a sound problem but I am sure that I have got 704(or 768)x576 files to work in the past doing this (before I discovered Linux) so it may just be a job of rescaling. I think it is a matter of time before all the tricks involved with Nero appear in K3B, so if I can prepare the files in Linux I will soon be able to burn them in Linux, hopefully! I note that kino uses mjpegtools to export its mpeg files. Is there a setting I can do which would force a VCD header onto an SVCD or DVD res file? Any help you can give would be just great.
